James Edward Williams, son of the late Eddie B. and Ruthie Williams, was born on April 6, 1954 in Enterprise, Alabama. He departed this life on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, NC. He was a dedicated husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather who loved his family unconditionally.
He was a graduate of Enterprise High School. After graduation, he entered the United States Army. He served his country from August 28, 1974 until August 27, 1977 and was honorably discharged. He attended Durham Technical Community College and was employed by AMDOCKS Corp. as a computer operator.
James was preceded in death by his father, Eddie B. Williams; his mother, Ruthie Williams of Macon, Georgia; his brother, Johnny C. (PIP) Williams and nephew, Donald “Che” Burton.
James Edward Williams is survived by his loving wife, Delorise Ann Williams; son, Travis Rashad Williams (fiancé’ Tameka Denise Vaught); daughter, Kelly Nicole Williams; granddaughter, Kenzley Jamie-Renee Williams all of Durham, North Carolina; daughter, Ebonique Tashaundra Fairley of Queens, New York. He was also survived by five sisters, Vera Moon, Lisa Williams both of Enterprise, Alabama and Mary Rowson of Rex, Georgia , Sonia Collier of Macon, Georgia and Tahia Wilson of Jonesbaro, Georgia; three brothers, Freddy (Glennette) Williams , Ricky Williams both of Enterprise, Alabama and Henry Wilson of Atlanta, Georgia; two aunts, Fannie Lou Blackmon and Betty Jean Bush both of Enterprise, Alabama; as well as a host of cherished and beloved nieces, cousins, great nieces, and nephews; one special nephew, Sammie (Roxanne) Moon of South Carolina.
