Shirley Ann Mayes-McGaughey of Enterprise, Alabama, entered eternal rest on Saturday, May 30, 2026. Born on July 2, 1956, in Enterprise, Alabama. Shirley is the daughter of the late Albert and Mattie Mayes.
 
Shirley devoted her life to her family, creating a warm and welcoming home where everyone felt loved and valued. Following her retirement from Enterprise Medical Center, she embraced her favorite role as “Grandma,” sharing her love, wisdom, creativity, and unwavering devotion with her grandchildren.
 
She cherished time spent with family and friends, whether gathered around the table, traveling, shopping, crafting, or enjoying the peace of the beach she loved so much. Through life's many challenges, Shirley faced each day with faith, strength, and grace, inspiring those around her through her perseverance and hopeful spirit.
 
Shirley taught her children and grandchildren the power of faith, kindness, gratitude, and unconditional love. Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished and the countless lives she touched.
 
Those who knew Shirley will remember her warm smile, compassionate heart, and the way she made everyone feel welcome and loved. While her presence will be deeply missed, her legacy lives on.  Her earthly labor is finished, her purpose fulfilled, and she has been called home to receive the peace and rest she so richly deserves.
