Samuel Mount Jr. was born on May 24, 1959 in Orlando Orange County, FL, to Willie Frank Mount Sr. and Gwendolyn Colston– Mount. He was called to home on January 19, 2023.
He attended Opp High School and graduated in 1977. He served in the U.S Navy for many years. Sam was united in Holy Matrimony to Shellan Edwards-Mount on December 4, 1999.
He is proceeded in death by his father: Willie Frank Mount Sr. and mother: Gwendolyn Colston-Mount of Opp, Alabama; one sister: Alice Jean Baker of Trenton, New Jersey.
Sam leaves to cherish in loving memories his devoted wife: Shellan Edwards-Mount and two daughters: Kimberly Denise Mount and Amberly Denise Mount; two brothers: Willie Frank Mount Jr. and Franklin Devon Mount (Tarshonda Stoudemire) all of Opp, AL; nine sisters: Brenda (Earl) Williams of Geneva, Marilyn-Pot (Johnny) Shepards of Atlanta, GA, Margaret (Johnny Frank-Tim) Harris of Opp, AL, Monica (Tony) Onque of Hampton, VA, Jenette (Eugene) Horstead, Novella Tillis, Francine (Jimmy Dewayne) Dozier, Lanetta Mount (John Henry Womack Annetta (Morris) Smiley all of Opp, AL; seven grandchildren: Nigel Hill, Jazmyn Diggs, Tayvierre Moore, Kaniya Diggs, Grayson Mount, Kyra McDougald, and I’Khyleigh Buckley.
