Roosevelt Williams, Jr was born to the union of the late Roosevelt Williams Sr. and Lessie Mae Williams, May 21, 1927 in Enterprise , AL. He is preceded in death by his Lovely wife Gracie Williams of thirty four years. No children were born in this Holy Matrimony. Brother Williams was the second child of ten siblings: six boys and four girls. He is preceded in death by brothers; Charlie Knight, Eddie Williams, Roy Williams; sisters: Isabell Brandon, Minnie Shine and Dorothy Knight. He is survived by a brother Johnny Williams (Hanesville, AL) and Earlene Ownes (Saginaw Michigan). He grew up assisting his father to help do a lot of plowing, cropping and shucking corn, etc. Therefore, he did not have much time for school. He barely made it to the 6th grade. He served in the US Marines Corps for 2 years from 1952-1954 (Trade transportation). After military service he went back to Coffee County Cotton Mill until he decided to work on Fort Rucker, AL in Civil Service for 34 years as a mail clerk, fueling helicopters and a mechanic. Brother Williams was baptized by Ulysses Shields in 1973 at the Pinedale Church of Christ in Enterprise, AL. Brother Williams began to preach night services under the teaching of Brother Shields at the Southside Church of Christ in Enterprise, AL. He attended Bethany Bible College and received his certification in ministry. Brother Williams became the minister of the Mulberry Heights Church of Christ in Elba, AL for 37 years. Brother Williams left Elba and took residence with his niece Patricia and her husband Earl Dawson of Daleville, AL for five years until he parted this worldly life at the Enterprise Medical Center. He leaves behind host of nieces and nephews cousins and friends.
