Robert L Edwards Sr

Minister Robert “Flea” Lewis Edwards Sr. was born on October 16, 1947 to the late Bishop and Mittie B. Edwards. Minister Robert was a unique and special man that lived with a burning desire to spread the Gospel of Jesus to everyone that he came in contact with, he left a livelong impression with all of those that he meet and knew him. Minister Robert had his very own unique and unforgettable language that include quotes such as “Somebody Tell The Lord Thank You”, “Whatcha Say”, “Raise The Roof for Jesus “. He leaves us with so many memories and laughs, from his one of a kind dress code, to the decking out of his vehicles and his attire with flashing Christmas lights and letting down his top with his Christian Music blasting as he drove slowing through many neighborhoods, cities & communities, while spreading Jesus every step of the way.  He had a deep love for the youth & encouraged them every opportunity that he was given to live for & love the Lord, he supported all churches and ministries regardless of their size. Minister Robert had a heart full of God’s love for everyone and expressed it loud and proud. 
He is proceed in death by his father and mother: Bishop and Mittie B. Edwards, one daughter: Barbra Jean Edwards, three brothers: Ed Kellum, Larry O. Edwards, William “Buck” Edwards. One God Brother: Bennett Echols. Three sisters: Carrie “Polly” Austin, Willie Merle “Weeda” Edwards, Mittie  Jewel “Sister” Edwards. He leaves to cherish his fond memories, two children: Robert Lewis  “Moe” (Pamela) Edwards of Elba, Al and Mary Jean (Otis) Scott of Troy, Al. Four Grandchildren: Kei-Auna and Kyson Edwards of Elba, Al. Tyeshia Varnes and Erica Stackhouse of Troy, Al. Nine great grandchildren: Jayla and Jaylin Coleman of Elba, Al. Jayla, Latterance, Malaki, Antonio, Akias, A-siah and Ty-lan of Troy, Al. Eight brothers:  James (Patsy Nell), Bishop of Rochester, NY, Johnny C. (Gracie), Willie Joe, Charles all of Opp, Al., Joseph and Carlton of Georgiana, Al and Steve of Andalusia, Al. Three sisters: Peggy, Julia (Gary) Crittenden of Opp, Al and Susan Marshall of Waynesville, MO.
