Richard Keith Richardson was born September 14, 1962 in Enterprise, Alabama to Roy D. Richardson, Sr. and Dorothy Whitehurst Richardson. Nurtured by a loving Christian family, Richard acknowledged and accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He was baptized at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Enterprise, Alabama where he was an active member until he relocated.
After Richard graduated from Enterprise High School in 1980 he joined the United States Army Reserve. As a skilled artisan, Richard worked for several companies and as an entrepreneur. He was a dedicated and dependable worker who took pride in his work and would do more than what was required to ensure that any job he did was a job well done.
Richard loved people, and anyone who met him knew he was a man with a big heart. He was an “F” man--A man with an enduring Faith in God who loved his Family, his Friends and he loved to have Fun. He would often surprise family members and friends with calls just to remind them that he loved them. Although Richard moved away from Enterprise, he was proud of his roots. He loved to share stories about growing up with his brother, Phil, and cousins under the watchful eyes and “switches” of his grandparents, Theodore and Bessie Whitehurst. Early childhood lessons along with life lessons as an adult and his faith in God made him a strong, sensitive and caring man.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roy D. Richardson, Sr. He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Dorothy J. Richardson; two brothers, Phillip Richardson (Tracy) of Vista, CA; Roy Richardson, Chattanooga, TN, a sister, Linda Arnold, Chattanooga, TN; two sons, Rasheen Carlton and Tryntin Richardson, Vista, CA; two daughters, D’Shonci Richardson, Cleveland, OH and Constance Lawrence, Camden, NJ; seven grandchildren; two uncles; 5 aunts and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
