Patricia Sowell Obituary

Life Reflections
Sunrise: October 20, 1956    Sunset: November 22, 2020

A Time To Be Born
Patricia (affectionately known as “Pat,” “Ms. Pat,” or “Tricia”) was born October 20, 1956 in Far Rockaway, NY to Dorothy and Clayborn Sowell. She experienced rebirth when she gave her life to Christ and was baptized at Greater Peace Missionary Baptist Church.

A Time To Serve
Patricia grew up in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, and was educated in Okaloosa County. She was a proud graduate of Choctawhatchee High School, class of 1974. She spent 25+ years working for Centel and Sprint phone companies. She has been a member of Greater Peace Missionary Baptist Church for 50+ years, faithfully attending and serving the Lord. She was currently employed as the administrative assistant of Greater Peace Missionary Baptist Church, a role that she thoroughly enjoyed. She also took pleasure in baking pound cakes and crocheting blankets...usually for someone else.

A Time To Rest
In the early morning hours of Sunday, November 22, 2020, the Lord relieved her from the burdens of this world and took her home to live with Him. She will forever be deeply missed by family and friends she left behind, but will be received by those who have gone on before her.

A Time To Mourn
Precious memories of Patricia will forever be cherished by: her only daughter by birth, Erin N. Robinson (who was her pride and joy) of Fort Walton Beach, FL; 2 daughters and 1 son who she raised and nurtured as her own - Tamara Hernandez (Fort Walton Beach, FL), Kayla Hernandez (Cordele, GA) and Mateo McKinnon (Fort Walton Beach, FL); her mother, Dorothy Sowell (Fort Walton Beach, FL) and father, Clayborn Sowell (New Brockton, AL); 3 siblings – sister, Gloria Hernandez (Joe), brother, Jerry Sowell (Stacy), and sister, Sheila Sowell, all of Fort Walton Beach, FL. She will also be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was very recently preceded in death by 2 people who were dear to her – niece, Angelique Jackson, and friend of 40+ years, Dorothy Reaves. Friends who will miss her phone calls and outings include, but is not limited to, Elizabeth Sanders, Tonya Robinson, Gwen (Pat) Westbrook, and numerous others.
