Ocie Phillips

Ocie Pearl Phillips was born December 2nd 1944 out of the union of Jesse James Cooks and Eula Cooks. She was the 4th oldest out of 12 siblings. Jesse Houston  of FL, Jesse James Cooks Jr. of Florida. Ruby Wynn of Troy, John Paul Cooks and Wille D. Cooks precede her in death. Ocie wed Shelly Oneal Phillips Jr. in 1965. out of that union was born her only child, her son Kelly Oneal Phillips. She leaves behind her son Kelly Oneal Phillips. one stepson Jonathan Dainels, three granddaughters: Jyl Daniels, Jessica Daniels, and Jennifer Daniels and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and siblings Jimmy Cooks of Montgomery, Mary Starks of Troy, Alabama, Voncile Howard of Texas, Myrtle Ellinrd of Troy, Alabama, Pearl Partlow of Montgomery, AL and her dear brother Charles Cooks whom she was taking care of. Ocie worked all her life. Employed by Elba General Hospital for 28 years, and Kleinterts sewing factory for 18 years, and a care giver for Volunteers of America for 22 years before retiring in 2019. She's been almost a life long member of Harris Temple COGIC in Elba , AL serving faithfully until her death. She did many things for the community out of pure love a and selflessness for people. But her top priority was always to please God first.
