Nellie Smedley

Mrs. Nellie Smedley was born to the late Henry and Lula Bell Stuckey on January 11, 1921. She was the oldest of nine children all preceded her in death. She was a member of Saint Rose Baptist Church where she served faithfully in the choir and Deaconess until her health began to fail. She was married to the late Deacon Willie C. Smedley and to this union they had eight children Earl, Elizabeth, Lee Ray, Dell, Freddie and Henry. Three preceded her death Y. C., Ornie D., Lee Ray, Three daughters-in-law Roberta, Beatrice, Onether Smedley. Mrs. Nellie also has several grandchildren many great grands, numerous nieces nephews and friends. Her goal was to love God and she loved parades and Alabama sports, ”Go Red and white, look at him run” she was always excited about family gatherings lovely food catfish and cake.
