Mittie B. Edwards

Mrs. Mittie B. Edwards was born on April 17, 1930 to the late Callie W. Lawrence and Willia Lee Smith Lawrence. She gave her life to Christ at an early age and remained faithful in her Christian Journey until her death.She departed this life, Wednesday September 2, 2020 at her home with family and friends.She is proceeded in death by her husband, Bishop Edwards, 2 sons, William (Jeanette) and Larry (Jewel), 3 daughters Mittie Jewel, Carrie Annette, and Willie Merle. She leaves to cherish her memories; Eleven of her Sixteen children. 8 Sons James (Patsy Nell), Bishop, both of Rochester NY, Robert, Johnny Calvin (Gracie Bell),  Willie Joe,  Charles all of Opp, AL ,Joseph and Carlton of Georgiana, AL; 3 Daughters, Susan (Missouri), Peggy and Julia (Gary) of Opp. AL; 2 grandkids that she raised Kiki and Chris, a stepson Steven, 76 grandkids many great and great great grandkids. A host of nieces, nephews and other relatives, special friends and one special sister in law Estella Lawrence. Mrs. Edwards love the Lord, her family, fishing and her churches. She would passionately say, she was married to Bethlehem Baptist Church but Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church was her boyfriend. She was a faithful member of both until recently when she became ill.
