Mickey Burton, a proud son of Marietta, Georgia, passed peacefully in his sleep on May 25, 2025, at the age of 84.
Born on October 10, 1940, to Eunice Mae Wilson Burton and Bolan Glover Burton, Mickey was known for his steadfast nature, deep sense of loyalty, and dry wit that could level a room. A man of quiet strength and strong values, he lived a life built on love for his family and respect for hard work. Mickey is survived by his devoted wife, Della Christine Burton, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories, resilience, and deep partnership. Together they built a family rooted in unconditional love. He is preceded in death by his siblings Linda Diane Burton Jackson and Bolan Glover Burton Jr., and remembered with love by his sister Brenda Burton Shuman Riley. Mickey leaves behind his sons, Mickey Burton Jr. (Deceased) and Russell A. Swingle (Andrea Green), who carry on his legacy of integrity, perseverance, and good humor. He was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather, and his impact will live on through numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who adored him. Those who knew Mickey will remember his calm presence, his unwavering sense of responsibility, and the simple wisdom he carried through life. He wasn’t a man of many words, but when he spoke, it meant something. A life well lived, a man well loved. He will be missed beyond measure.
