Mary Alice Matthews was born on December 18, 1935 to the late Lillie Mae Matthews and Marshall Roy of Curtis, AL.
She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was a proud member of Nazareth Baptist Church.
Her favorite pastime was watching the Judge Mathis and Judge Judy show, dancing and listening to her favorite song, the Green Onion to include joyriding and sightseeing and we can not forget one of her favorite things to say was “YOU SHOOL IS UGLY”!
She was preceded in death by her Son, Bobby Matthews, her Mother; Lillie Mae Matthews, two Sisters; Adell Underwood, and Maebell Matthews and her brother; Gabe Matthews; great grandson; Gunner Matthews.
She leaves to cherish her memories; Brother: Eddie (Barbara) Matthews, Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Daughters: Marilyn (Johnny) Shepard, Riverdale, Ga, Monica (Tony) Onque Hampton, VA. Jeanette (Eugene) Horstead, Opp, AL, Linda Rolan, Newport News, VA, Denise Matthews, Opp, AL, Pamela Matthews, Dothan, AL. Son, Derek (Sandra) Matthews, Fayetteville, GA. She leaves behind a host of grandchildren/ great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
