Marcus D. Flowers, age 56, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 24, 2022, at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Alabama, surrounded by loved ones.
He was born July 9, 1966 to Louie Flowers, Sr, and Lillie Merle Rainer, the middle of three children. He graduated Opp High School Class of 1984, immediately pursuing his military career. Serving 30 years in the U.S. Army, Marcus garnered many achievements, earning many awards and badges during his service. After his honorable discharge from the service, Marcus continued to serve his country through civilian work. During, his time in the service, he made lifetime friends that became family to him. Though Marcus was a hardworking and determined man, he was also dedicated to his family. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, father and grandfather, Also, though he spent time traveling around the world, he loved to come home to spend time with his siblings, cousins, and childhood friends. They would laugh, dance, barbeque, and enjoy each other's company (as well as the finest cigars and wine), Marcus brought fun and life wherever he was. He had a charm that most people could not deny.
He was a generous and compassionate man, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew  him.
Marcus was preceded in death by his mother, Lillie Merle Flowers. He is survived by his father and 2nd Mom Louie Sr. And Judy Flowers; aunts Annie "Sis* Walker and Gladys Rice; Gloria Matthews and Uncles Fred Matthew, Briar, Conner, and Albert Walker, his siblings, sisters Pamala Flowers and Julie Von Lawrence, and brother Louie Flowers Jr., He is also survived by his five children, Keonda Austin, Sheena (Phil) Hernandez, Jasmine (Kendarus) Grayson, Alaljah Flowers, Texas and Marcus Flowers Jr. of the Philippines, and six beloved grandchildren, Keshawna, Damian, Fox, Marleigh, Ava, and Matthias. Nieces RhaShonda, Leslie, Kristin, April. Nephews Christopher, Chingy, Cameron. Godchildren: Tasha, Tiara, Dj, LaShelle, Nashira, Dominque; special friends: Vera, Chelo, OC, Lucky, Kirk, Millie, Doughboy, and Mike.
