Mae Ella Warren was born March 26, 1920, to the late Tom and Sarah Warren in Enterprise, AL. She married Tommie Warren on February 13, 1960.
She received her elementary and secondary education in the public schools of Coffee County Training School in Enterprise, AL. She graduated from Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA on May 25, 1949, and was a member of the Zeta'Phi Beta sorority. For many years she inspired the lives of those around her as a teacher at the Carroll Street Elementary School and later Holly Hill Elementary School in Enterprise, AL. She retired on June 1, 1984, after teaching for over 35 years.
Mae Ella was an active member of the St. Beulah Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. She served as President of the Choir #2 and a member of the Usher Board until her health failed her. She was a dedicated member of the Order of Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother: James Daniel (JD) Warren, and sister: Lelia Mae Henderson.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Shirley (Lorenzo) Harrison, Sr. of Enterprise, AL. Three grandchildren, Lorenzo Jr., St. Petersburg, FL, Lawrence (Sheena) of Prattville, AL, and Sherell (Ray) McVay, Jr. of Northport, AL; one great grandson Larenz Harrison of Prattville, AL. A special and devoted nephew Frederick (Ruby) Warren of Enterprise, AL. A special friend, Essie DuBose, of Enterprise, AL and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
