Mr. Levi Simmons Sr. age 83, was born on March 2, 1943, and departed this life on June 8, 2026. He leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, family, and friendship that will be cherished by all who knew him.
Levi was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving wife, Mary Evon Simmons; his children, Jason Simmons and Tracy Robinson; and his daughter-in-law, Kaesa Simmons.
He was a proud grandfather to Kanae, Kimani (Kendal Woodard), Jason Simmons, Khadirah Simmons, Toccara Stoudemire, Quentin Robinson, Demetrius Robinson, Shabraun Robinson, and David Ardis. He was also blessed with six great-grandchildren.
He is survived by four sisters, Doris Moss, Gloria “Red” (Floyd) White, Carrie “Kate” Leach, and Betty Joell; one brother-in-law, Willie (Josephine) Ellis; sisters-in-law, Liz Simmons and Brenda Ellis; a special nephew, Billy Simmons; and a special caregiver and dear friend, Theresa Odums. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will forever treasure his memory.
Levi was preceded in death by his parents, Barry Simmons and Polly Simmons; his beloved son, Levi Simmons, Jr.; his brothers, Jesse Simmons, James Simmons, and Lynn “Sonny” Simmons; his sisters, Helen Simmons, Mary Jewel McClain, Annie Laura Flowers, Margaret “Babe” Belcher, Ethel Pearl Roberson, and Mattie Johnson; and his niece, Polly Williams.
Though he has departed from this earthly life, the love, wisdom, and memories he shared will remain in the hearts of those who loved him. His legacy will continue through his family and all whose lives he touched.
