Layita Jackson

It is with profound sadness and love that we announce the passing of Layita K. Jackson,
affectionately known as Yita, who left this world on April 13, 2026, at the age of 45. Her
spirit departed on a gentle spring day, but her memory will forever bloom in the hearts of
all who knew her.
Born on February 14, 1981, in Stuttgart, Germany, Layita was a cherished gift to her
parents, Melvin and Annie Stallworth. She was a beacon of light and warmth, embodying
the love and strength of her family lineage. Layita's early years were filled with laughter
and adventure, guided by the nurturing embrace of her parents and an extended family
who adored her.
Layita's life was a tapestry of rich experiences and achievements. She spent her formative
years in Daleville, Alabama, where she graduated from Daleville High School in 1999. Her
passion for learning and her inquisitive nature led her to the University of Alabama,
where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree. Education was a cornerstone of Layita's
life, and she inspired others with her dedication and commitment to personal growth.
Yita's artistic soul found joy in the world of "Arts," a passion that she pursued with fervor
and grace. Her appreciation for the arts was not just a hobby; it was a testament to her
vibrant and creative spirit. She believed in the power of art to transform lives and bring
people together, and she eagerly shared this belief with her family and friends, igniting in
them the same love and appreciation.
Though Layita has departed this earthly realm, her spirit remains ever-present in the
lives of those she leaves behind. She is survived by her loving parents, Annie and Melvin
Stallworth; her devoted brother, Emmanual Stallworth (Melissa); a loving niece Ariel
Hutchinson and her beloved goddaughter, Kaylin Davis; and a large extended family of
aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who cherished her deeply.
Layita was predeceased by her grandparents and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins who
have awaited her in the embrace of eternity.
Layita was a beloved daughter, sister, godmother, niece and friend. Her kindness,
generosity, and unwavering love have left an indelible mark on the hearts of those
fortunate enough to know her. Her laughter, wisdom, and gentle spirit will be dearly
missed, but the legacy of her life will continue to inspire and uplift us.
Rest in peace, dear Yita. Your light will continue to shine in our hearts, guiding us with
the love and joy you so generously shared.
