A Time to Be Born
"To every thing there is a season...a time to be born." Ecclesiastes 3:1, 2
CSM Joseph E. Arrington, Jr., was born on May 17, 1947, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his parents: Catherine and Edward Mason; siblings: Robert Mason and Gwendolyn Hannah, Philadelphia, PA.


A Time to Learn of Christ
"Grow in knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." 2 Peter 3:18
Joe was reared in a Christian home. He professed and accepted Christ at an early age and united with the Mount Carmel Baptist Church, Philadelphia.


A Time to Love
"Complete my joy, be of the same mind, having the same love.." Philippians 2:2
On May 28, 1970, Joe joined together in Holy matrimony with his soul mate for life: Nora Jean McCray.
To this union, their beautiful daughter, Gwendolyn, was born. In their hearts to keep forever, is his life of love, to cherish and never forget.


A Time to Live
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord." Colossians 3:23 On July 18, 1966, Joe enlisted in the US Army and served as Command Sergeant Major, he served with distinction, courage, devotion and honor. After military retirement, he began a second career as a U.S.
Postal Mail Carrier in Dothan, Alabama. Joseph's favorite pastimes were reading, completing puzzles watching "Star Trek." and playing bingo. 


A Time to Die
"I have fought a good fight; I have finished my course: I have kept the faith." Il Timothy 4:7-8
Death separates the spirit from the body and moves one to a higher spirital realm of eternity. On March 6, 2026, God in His infinite wisdom, dispatched an angel of mercy to carry Command Sergeant Major Joseph E. Arrington, Jr., to a better home, free from pain.
After serving twenty-three years of enlistment in man's army, Joe is now reactivated to a life in God's army. He has been sworn in to serve in sweet rest and fellowship with the Saints of Heaven.


A Time to Mourn
"Blessed are they that morn: for they shall be comforted." Matthew 5:4
Joe's passing brings sorrow and grief, but rest assured, "Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning." His unforgettable memories will be forever cherished in the hearts of his loving and devoted wife, Nora Arrington; his loving and caring daughter and son-in-law Gwendolyn and Charles Johnson; and grandson: Jye Johnson, Lawrenceville, GA. Brother: Bruce Mason, Sisters: Diane Arrington and Catherine Mason, Philadelphia, PA. Mother-in-law: Nora McCray; Sisters-in-law Martha Petty and Diane Martin, Enterprise, AL and a host of     nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
