Johnny Williams Obituary

Johnny Jerome Williams was born in New Brockton, Alabama the eldest child of three children born to Johnny W. Williams and the Late Audrey Andrews Williams. He was raised in New York City, New York where he was a member of Zion Baptist Church where he was baptized. He attended Dewitt Clinton High School and Croton on the Hudson Military Academy. Thereafter, he joined the United States Marine Corp in 1975 and served his country faithfully. He received an honorable discharge and left the Corp as a Lance Corporal with recognition as a sharp shooter. 
He secured a position with the Veterans Administration where he worked in Food Services for several years. Thereafter, Johnny trained and became a Special Police Officer and he provided armed security for upscale businesses in lower Manhattan and he provided security at the World Trade Center, at 29 Federal Plaza. Eventually he became employed as an armed Special Police Officer for Starrett City in Brooklyn, New York where he received recognition for his outstanding work and security provided.
On September 10, 1988 he married Monica Dickerson and they lived in Brooklyn, New York. In 1990 Johnny joined Universal Church of God in Christ where he worshiped. Johnny became a Free, Ancient and Accepted Mason under Scottish Rites initiated into Pilgrim Lodge #48 in New York City, NY where he became a Master Mason. In 2004 Johnny moved to the south and finally resided in Daleville, Alabama where he joined Popular Springs Baptist Church.
Johnny loved to reminisce and recall fun with family and friends. He most enjoyed fishing. He said when he fished he was at peace. He leaves to mourn his wife, Monica Williams (Brooklyn, New York), his father, Johnny W. Williams, his son Reginald Raphael (Lisa) (New York City) and grandchildren Jakhai, Noah, Sanajah, Melody, and David, two sisters, Mary Sample, Donna Rucker (Clarence) Maryland, one brother (Reginald Head), two Aunts, Qubie Rowe (Sea) Ohio, Juanita Andrews, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends, including a devoted childhood friend, Simon Kearney.
