Jimmy Scott Obituary

Jimmy Scott was born on January 23, 1959, in Enterprise, AL, to the late Comer Scott and Lillian Reese Scott. He went to be with the Lord on September 20, 2025.
Preceding him in death were four sisters and four brothers: Jeanetta Andrews, Elizabeth Simmons, Annette Stinson, Sarah Polk, Bobby, Comer, Freddy, and Cecil Scott.
Jimmy was raised in the Baptist Hill Community of Enterprise, AL, and attended Enterprise City Schools. After high school, he enrolled at Alabama State University before joining the U.S. Army in 1980. He proudly served his country for more than 20 years in locations including Fort McClellan, AL; Fulda, Germany; Yongsan, Korea; Fort Polk, LA; Okinawa, Japan; and Bad Kreuznach, Germany.
Following his military retirement in 2001, Jimmy continued serving as a government contractor in Kosovo and at Fort Gordon. He later worked as an Army civilian in Kaiserslautern, Germany; Iraq; and at the Cyber Center of Excellence, Fort Gordon, where he remained until his passing.
Jimmy was truly a “jack of all trades.” He loved boating, fishing, hunting, cycling, exploring nature, and following sports—especially Alabama football. An avid reader, he could hold a conversation on almost any subject. Known for his contagious smile and playful spirit, he had a gift for bringing laughter to those around him and never shied away from speaking his mind. He was the rock of his immediate and extended family. Above all, he deeply cherished his loved ones.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Mary; sons, Jamarion and Quintez Scott (Huntsville, AL); daughters, DeAudra Scott (Augusta, GA) and Keirra Andrews (Huntsville, AL); one brother, Ronnie Scott (Enterprise, AL); and five beloved grandchildren: Tristan Vandiver, Quintez and Lilliana Scott, Jaxson Pugh, and Elizabeth Henderson. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, as well as his cherished mother-in-law, Mrs. Constance Jones.
