Jimmie Smith

Jimmie Nell Smith was born to the late Madeline Smith and Jim S. Smith on August 15, 1944 in New Brockton, Alabama.
Smith. She has two sons Norris and Donald Donnell.

At an early age she accepted Christ and united with the Greater Springfield Missionary Baptist Church She moved away to Far Rockaway, New York, where she joined First Baptist Church she lived there for forty-three years. She retired after twenty years of devoted service as an Administrator of Children Service for the city of New York. When she moved back to her home town of New Brockton, Alabama, uniting back with her home church where she served faithfully on the Educational Committee and the Culinary Staff.

She was preceded in death by her mother Madeline Smith, father Jim S. Smith, brother Marion E. Smith and uncles Edward & Frank Smith.

She leaves to cherish her memories two sons: Nomis (Shelia) Smith, Richmond Hill, Georgia and Donald Donnell Smith of Woodbridge, VA. two sisters: Jeraldine Smith and Gladys L. Deese of New Brockton, Alabama; Brother Raymond (Betty) Smith of Ardmore, Alabama; seven grandchildren: Chasitie (Jewel) Lee; April Nelson; Leticia Smith (Treives) Henry; Tiffincy Smith; La Noris Smith; Quinton Donnell Smith; Michael Watkins (Smith); Host of great grandchildren; three nephews: Kyle (April) Smith; Jeffery (Amber) McKenzie; Mario (Senora) Smith; two nieces: Demetrice Tolliver (Cari) Coon and Jasmin P. Smith (Marshawn) Benjamin. A host of great great grands, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and her special friends from New York and throughout the East Coast.                 

In  lieu of flowers, the  Smith family respectfully request if desired, to donate to support the Springfield Baptist Church  (educational fund to support youth)
