God called his faithful servant Janary (Donaldson) Fleming home on Wednesday August 23, 2023. She was born July 18, 1930, to the late Charlie and Bonnie Donaldson of Elba, Alabama. She was the third of seven children. She joined Bishop Fleming Jr., the love of her life, in holy matrimony on September 30, 1961. They enjoyed 61 years of marriage. She became a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church at an early age and attended service faithfully until her health no longer allowed her to do so. She attended the Coffee County Training School in Enterprise, Alabama. She later worked for the Enterprise City School System where she retired after 20 years of devoted service in the summer of 1989.
Janary was the epitome of love and grace with a heart of gold. She urged her children to stand up for what they believed in. She respected others and demanded respect in kind. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. On a windy day you could smell her cooking from the top to the bottom of Searcy Street. Janary was always willing to set an extra place at her table or provide a place to stay for those in need. Most of all, she enjoyed fellowshipping with family, friends, and neighbors and caring for her family.
She is survived by her loving husband Bishop Fleming Jr.; her devoted sons and daughters: Larry (Gloria), Linda (Harold), Edna (Thomas), Jerome (Margaret), Milton (Mia), Reginold (Cynthia), Steve Bishop III, Eunice. Charles (Catherine), and Dianne. She is also survived by her cherished brother Rex Amos (Linda) Donaldson; her sister-in-law Doris Donaldson; and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she loved dearly and held close to her heart; as well as several beloved nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Charlie & Bonnie Donaldson; brothers, Elis, Charles Jr. (Neva), Winston (Otis), and James; and sisters Dorothy and Cubie (Roscoe). Though she is with the Lord she is still here with us in spirit; she will be greatly missed because she was truly loved!
