Harry James McCray was born on April 16, 1951 to the late John C. McCray Sr. and Nora G. McCray. Harry departed this life on February 25, 2023 at his home in Enterprise, AL. He attended Coppinville High School and graduated with the class of 1970. Harry worked for many years at Petty’s Funeral Home alongside Carlton “Snog” Petty. He loved listening to music and being with his family and friends. There was not a day you would not see him waking with his cane and famous “dime” in his ear.
He is preceded in death by father John C. McCray Sr. : two brothers: John (Buzz) C.. McCray and Frank DuBose; grandmother Lorriane Walker; uncle Garth Walker; aunt Patricia Thodile; Alfred Walker and niece Valtina Walker.
Harry leaves to cherish his loving mother: Nora G. McCray; three sisters: Nora J. Arrington (Joseph), Martha P. Petty (Henry C.), and Diane Martin (Billy Ray Sr.); two uncles: James Walker (Annie J) and Herman Walker (Skytina); one aunt: Mable Pierce; five nephews: Michael Petty, Reggie McCray, Adrian McCray, Kevin Martin and Billy Ray Martin Jr. two nieces: Gwendoyln A. Johnson (Charles Sr.) and Amanda Rogers (Morris Jr.) and host of great nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
