Estella Hooks was born November 29, 1940 to the late James W. Hooks and Mary A. Hooks. She graduated from Mulburry Heights School, Elba, AL. and attended Alabama State College. In 1960 she moved to NY and worked as manager for NY housing authority and retired many years later.
Estella join R.H.M.B.C at and early age soon after moving to NY. She later joined Ebeneezer Baptist Church, Queens NY. When she moved to Bronx, NY she joined Trinity Baptist Church and after retiring and moving back to Alabama she joined her home church R.H.M.B.C again.
She was preceded in death by her sister Ruby Hooks-Johnson (Eugene Johnson) and William Edward Hooks.
She leaves to cherish her memory to one son: Clifton Hooks; seven siblings: James Hooks Jr. (Mary) Opp, AL, Charles Hooks Elba, AL, Susie Hooks-Goins Elba, AL, Willie Hooks (Trish) Elba, AL, Joel Hooks (Janice) Elba, AL, Robert Hooks (Anette) GA, Jerry Hooks (Arleen) AZ; one sister in law: Glaydes Hooks; one aunt: Corene Daniels Elba, AL, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
