Eric Dwane "Doughboy" Lofton, was born on December 22, 1975, to Jenese L. Florence and the late Henry Lofton, Jr., in Frankfort, Germany. He accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, under the Pastoral leadership of Rev. Paul Grider, Pastor Emeritus and presently Rev. Jimmy L. Grider. He departed this life on Monday, December 12, 2022, on Interstate 10 in Jacksonville, FL.
He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents: Henry Lofton, Sr. and Myrtle Lofton, Mobile, AL; John L. and Lennis McGlothen, Simsboro, LA.
He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving mother, Jenese L. Florence and (step-father) James Florence: two daughters: Nia M. Lofton (mother, Simone Lofton), Daleville, AL and Erika L. Lofton, Daleville, AL. Sisters and brother: Aleshia Peacock (Marc-Anthoni), Montgomery, AL; Casandra Strange (Brett), Dayton, OH; Melissa Lane (Eddie), Huntsville, AL; Craig Florence (Vickie), Dothan, AL three aunts: Minnie E. McGlothen, Colorado Springs, CO., Carolyn Jenkins, Simsboro, LA, and Gloria Corbin, Ruston, LA. special friends from childhood: David Ardis and Kelly King, Dothan, AL, and Ms. Randi Beverett.
