Debra Brown Obituary

Debra D. Brown, age 66, was born on September 13, 1955, in Hartford Alabama (Geneva County) to the late Nathaniel and Jessie Mae Brown. She was the oldest of two children.
Debra attended Enterprise High School and was apart of the first class to integrate the Enterprise Public School System. She also graduated from Riley College with a Cosmetology Degree. Debra worked on Fort Rucker Military Base, as a Civil Service Personnel Clerk until she retired in 2007.
At a young age Debra accepted Christ at Bethel AME Church in Hartford, AL. She would always ask “Do you know Jesus?” She firmly believed in being apart of the Church and serving the Lord.
In life, Debra was a very kind and thoughtful person. If she could help, she was going to help in any way she could, whether monetarily, providing resources, or giving you her time, when needed. She enjoyed crafts, making wreaths and baskets. Also, she enjoyed baking pecan, sweet potato, and buttermilk pies. Debra’s favorite pastime was spending time with family and friends, and she loved to communicate daily on the telephone. She had a love for taking pictures, any and everywhere she went, she would like you to snap a photo. One of Debra’s biggest accomplishments was becoming a mother, she truly loved her two children Kendrick and Jessica.
Debra was proceeded in death by her father Nathaniel Brown Sr., mother Jessie Mae Dixon Brown, and her beloved brother Nathaniel Brown Jr. (Regina). She leaves behind her son Kendrick L Brown (Chequera), daughter Jessica L Brown (Francetta) and three grandchildren Michael Jr, Naima, and Merari. One great aunt, Ruth McCoullgh of Pensacola, FL. Two aunts, Carolyn Ford of Wilmington, North Carolina and Bernice Sanders of Michigan, and an uncle, David Mack (Mike) Brown of Dothan, Alabama. Several godchildren and a host of cousins, great cousins, and friends.
