Dana Shirley

Dana Mariea Shirley, daughter of Sanford and Sue Carol (Reid) Shirley was born February 6, 1964 in Robbins, Illinois. She attended the public schools of Cook County. Although Ms. Shirley did not complete high school, she did not let that stop her as she later sought to obtain her GED. She attended classes to become a Certified Nurse’s Assistant. She worked in that field of service until her health no longer allowed. At an early age she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church. Ms. Shirley later joined True Vine Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Steven D. Lewis. As a result of her joyous spirit, and her outgoing personality, Ms. Shirley will be missed by many. Her smile and laughter will forever remain in the lives of all that knew her. She quietly departed this life Monday, November 25, 2019, at her daughter’s residence in Enterprise, Alabama surrounded by loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Tiki Pandora Clowers, sister-in-law, Sandra Carpenter, and grandson, Zy’Aire Shirley. Although never married, Ms. Shirley will forever be cherished in the lives of her five blessings: Shelley Shirley, Enterprise, AL; Aaron Shirley, Enterprise, AL; Brandon Shirley, Enterprise, AL; Duran Shirley, Robbins, IL; Tory Shirley (Carlisia Shirley), Grafenwöhr, Bavaria, Germany; grandchildren: Teasjah Murphy, Jasaan Roberts, Jaquis Revis, Kimauri Shirley, Lakiyah and Tianna Lewis, Duran Shirley Jr., Amari and Zyion Shirley, Jaylen and Jacobi Jeter; siblings: Anquinette Thomas (Curtis Thomas), Hazel Crest, IL; Russell Reid, Robbins, IL; Stephanie Reid, Robbins, IL; Sanford “Dewey” Shirley Jr., Markham, IL; Ricky Shirley, Robbins, IL; Verne Shirley, Robbins, IL; Ericka Shirley, Robbins, IL and Keisha Shirley, Robbins, IL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
