Catherine Tillis

The late Catherine D. Tillis was born the only child to Cottie M. Broxton and Chester Pruitt in (Opp), Covington County, Alabama. She attended school in the Covington County School System. On June 8, 1951 she was united in Holy Matrimony to Charlie Tillis, Jr. God blessed them with seven children.At an early age she accepted Christ as her Savior and attended the Church of God in Christ in Opp, Alabama.She enjoyed life to the fullest and was a loving, kind and compassionate person. Catherine was a hard working woman. After 30 years of service, Catherine retired from Mizell Memorial Hospital. She continued in the work force after retirement.On January 25, 2021, God called his child home, where she was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, mother and father, daughter-in-law, Evelyn Tillis, son-in-law, Clemmie Henderson and great grandson, Malcom Dakota “Dee” Brundidge. Today she leaves to cherish her memory, seven children. Malcom Tillis (Mary Brundidge), Charlie R. Tillis (Linda), Rickie Tillis, Anthony Tillis, Connie T. Henderson, Shelia Tillis, Gloria Tillis, Opp, AL.
