Catherine Stewart

February 1, 1953 ~ August 16, 2020 (age 67)


Catherine Hudson Stewart was born on February 1, 1953 in (Johntown) Ozark, Alabama to the late Sammy J and Essie (Mcleod) Hudson. After a long battle with health problems, her life came to an end on Sunday, August 16, 2020 at her home. She attended school in Ozark, Alabama. She later met and married the love of her life, the late James C. Stewart as he served in the U.S. Army in Ft. Rucker, Al. They moved to Charlotte, NC for many years. Catherine and James had two children, Eric and Kisha Stewart. The family eventually moved to Enterprise, AL which became their permanent home. Sister Catherine Stewart committed herself  as a faithful memeber of the Believers In Christ Tabernacle Church family under the leadership of the late, Bishop Kenneth Beckwith and later under the Pastorial Team: Bishop Walter Faulks, Eldress Linda Faulks and Pastor Shirley Jones. She loved her church family dearly. She was entrusted with many church duties that she enjoyed such as being the B.I.C. Choir Director, Women Sunday School Student, Church Birthday Organizer, Sisterhood Member, Pastor Appreciation Cake Purchaser, Church Secretary and she played the piano joyfully every Sunday. Catherine was a certified nursing assistant during her early years. She loved being a blessing to others. For over 35 years, she earned the respect of many Enterprise residents by being trustworthy and dependable, while working in their homes. Catherine was treated like family and maintained close relationships with some of the families she worked for. Catherine had a huge heart and loved everyone. She prayed for others more than she prayed for herself. She will be greatly missed by everyonewho knew and loved her.Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Stewart, her parents , Sammie and Essie (Mcleod) Hudson, a brother, Sammie Hudson, jr and a brother-in-law, Vance Johnson. Catherine leaves to cherish two children: Eric and Kisha Stewart, stepson; Charles (Marisha) Stewart, three sisters; Geraldine Johnson, Carrie (Elvin) Handeman and Wanna (Paul) Ware, brother; Andrew Hudson, four grandchildren; Lee (Ch’Irenea) Stewart, Aaron Snow, Eric (Katherine) Hill and Josiya Edwards, four great grandchildren; Naomi, Nehemiah, K’Lea and Jahmiyae. She also had several cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was blessed with several good friends that she loved dearly.
