Billy Brackins Obituary


Billy Ray Brackins, was born the fifth child to Mose (Bud) and Dora Broxton – Brackins on January 16, 1941 in Bellwood, Alabama. He graduated from Bellwood High School in the class of 1960. In his earlier years he became a member of the C.O.G.I.C.
As a young man he traveled and moved to Los Angeles, Ca. Upon making California his new home he acquired a job as a Machinist in Burbank, Ca. Later Lela M. Mills moved to Los Angeles, Ca and met Billy. He proposed and married Lela M. Mills in the year of 1964. To this union three sons were born; Derrick Brackins (Deceased), Alaic Brackins, Craig Brackins and Belinda Brackins. Billy loved traveling around the world domestically and internationally, fishing and playing around with his grandchildren. 
  His memory  are cherished by his children Alaic Brackins, Craig Brackins and Belinda Brackins. His nine grandchildren that knew him as “Big Daddy” are Tracie Brackins- Jernigan (Justin), Devon Brackins (Jennifer), Derrick Brackins-Page, Rodney MacMillon, Jaheim Brackins, Harmoni McCrimmon, Lonnie Brackins- McCray, Major Brackins and Jerimayah Buckhalter. His four great grandchildren; Cameron Brackins, Zachary Brackins, Miles Jernigan and Olive Jernigan.
Billy had five brothers and four sisters. He was preceded in death by his brothers; Perry, Raymond and Jimmy Brackins. His sisters; Nancy Brackins, Jennie Brackins and Mary Brackins. Living siblings Charles Brackins, Samuel Brackins and sister Shirley Burton. A host of nephews, nieces, uncles, Aunts, cousins and friends.
