Billy Blue Jr.

Billy Don Blue, Jr. cared deeply for his family and friends and showed that love in both big and quiet ways throughout his life. He lived a life rooted in kindness, generosity, and service to those around him.

Billy was a genuinely thoughtful man, devoted husband, caring brother, loving father and grandfather, and loyal friend. He was called home to take his eternal rest with the Lord on Friday, May 22, 2026, at the age of 65.

Billy was born on November 21, 1960, to the late Gloria (nee Simmons) and Billy D. Blue in Enterprise Alabama. After graduating from Enterprise High School in 1979, he enlisted the United States Army. While stationed at Ansbach, Germany, he met his sweetheart, Claudette Blue (nee McCall), who was also serving in the Army, and in 1983, they married. Soon after, Claudette was honorably discharged from the Army and they had two children, Billy Blue III, born at Fort Rucker, Alabama,  and Annedrea Blue, born at Fort Hood, Texas. Subsequently, his military service took the family to Stuttgart and Frankfurt, Germany, and back to Fort Rucker Alabama.
After serving 14 years in the Army, Billy was honorably discharged in 1994, and began a second career with the Alabama Department of Corrections. Over the course of his service, he worked as a Shift Supervisor for 17 years and spent 12 years on the Security Threat Group, Gang Intelligence and Identification Team. In that role, he conducted gang intelligence investigations and conducted interviews in as many as eight different correctional facilities throughout Alabama. Billy dedicated his life to service — both to his country and his community — before retiring from the Alabama Department of Corrections in 2023.
Billy was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge, Southeast #506, in Enterprise, Alabama; a lifetime member of the NAACP’s Coffee County Branch #5017; and the Fort Rucker Alabama Chapter of the Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club. He loved serving his community, riding his motorcycle, fishing, shooting sports, outdoor grilling, traveling throughout the United States and the world.
Billy is survived by his devoted wife, Claudette Blue; his son, Billy Blue III of Norfolk, Virginia; and his daughter, Annedrea Blue of Enterprise, Alabama. He also leaves behind his cherished grandsons and greatest joys, Harrison Trout and Jackson Trout, sons of Annedrea, and Billy Blue IV and Michael Blue, sons of Billy III. His siblings Patricia Dawson of Daleville AL, Shelia Anderson of Okinawa Japan, Catina Winfrey of Baumholder Germany and Demetrius Chapman of Douglasville Georgia. 
He is also survived by his aunts, Eleanor Green and Ann Hamm of Detroit, Michigan, as well as a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and dear friends. 
Billy was preceded in death by his baby brother Arthur Grady Blue III (“I miss you, Joe”), and nephew Montez Tony Blackmon. Whether through his guidance, his generosity, his sense of humor, or simply the way he made people feel welcomed and cared for, he left a lasting mark that will never be forgotten. Kiss slowly.
