Asia Vell Liptrot, affectionately known as, Bell, was born on April 29, 1933 in Brundidge, Alabama to the late Foy and Dora Mae Liptrot. Asia was the second of 11 siblings. She was preceded in death by her father, Foy and mother, Dora Mae Liptrot; ex-husband, Joel Copeland, Sr.; son, Joel Copeland, Jr.; one sister, Annie Grace Hall; four brothers, Foy, Jr., Moses, Dallas, and Willie James; and a special friend, Leroy Newman. Bell departed this life on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at 87 years old.Bell joined the Greater Bethel A.M.E. Church at an early age. She was baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus and received the gift of the Holy Ghost. She loved singing with the adult choir and preparing meals in the kitchen for various church events. Bell was a faithful member until her health began to fail.Bell was blessed with many talents. She loved helping others, gardening, fishing, sewing, and listening to her favorite Male Gospel Singer, Lee Williams. She brought joy to many families within the community as a caregiver and housekeeper. She never met a stranger, once you met her, you would never forget her. Bell will be missed by all.Bell leaves to cherish her memory: her devoted daughter, Linda Rodgers, two granddaughters; Catrenia Rodgers and Cameca Ashley (Jay), three Great Grandchildren: Dyahmond Rodgers & Teniyah Ginyard (Catrenia) and Caleb Ashley (Cameca); and one Great-great Grandson: Mykah Forte (Dyahmond); four sisters, Zedell Coleman (Melvin), Catherine White, Cherrie Edwards, Mary Jones and one brother Levoy Liptrot (Ira), and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and her Greater Bethel A.M.E. Church Family.
