Alberta Winslett

Albirtha Wislett 89 passed away June 17, 2020. Graveside service was held Saturday June 27, 2020 at Marianna AME Cemetery Midway, AL. Coleman Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise directed. Albirtha Person Winslett was born to the late Elijah and Minnie Person on October 29, 1930 in Clayton, AL. She was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Walter Lee Winslett on January 18, 1952 in Union Springs, AL. She attended Marianna AME School and later attended The Barbour County School System. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Shiloh AME Church in Mount Andrew, AL. She later joined Marianna AME Church where she served faithfully in the prime of her health. The Lord called her home June 17, 2020, where she was surrounded by her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She is preceded in death by her loving parents Elijah and Minnie Person, three sisters – Evelyn Crosby, Arilla McCall and Minnie Herron. She leaves to cherish her loving memories: her devoted and only daughter, Sharon W. Rogers (Ozark, AL); three loving grandchildren, Captain Antionne D. Winston (San Diego, CA), Jessica (Anthony) Malone (Daleville, AL) and Alexis Rogers (Atlanta, GA); two wonderful great-grandchildren, Montez and Layla; five sisters, Maureen Salter, Emma Jean Person, Mary B. Guilford, Dorothy Jackson (Columbus, Ohio) and Marie Streeter (Clayton, AL) and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
