Alberta Daniels

Alberta Daniels was born on October 2, 1923 in Elba, Alabama to the late Edlow Askew and Manola Askew. She was the eldest of six children and was no stranger to hard work. Alberta attended high school up until the tenth grade but had to leave school to help with the family farm. She went on to marry the late H. Mozell Daniels with whom she had eleven children. Alberta was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved God, family, friends and cooking. She has been the pillar of strength, wisdom, love and understanding for her family. Alberta was always there for her family and helped to raise several of her grandchildren, setting a powerful example of what a mother/grandmother should be. She instructed her family in the Word of God and the fear of the Lord. Alberta has been a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church for over seventy years and was proud of it.  She cherished her time as an Eastern Star and enjoyed assisting others at the church. She never met a stranger and was always warm and welcoming no matter where she was. She was active in her community and frequently attended the senior citizen center. Alberta loved to cook for others and was known to be one of the best cooks around town. She loved to laugh and crack jokes; she was a wonderfully witty woman who had a unique way with words. Even though she was ninety-seven years old, she was full of life, independence and joy. Alberta departed this life on January 20, 2021.  She leaves to cherish her memories by, her brother Ezell Askew and sister Annie Lois Hooks; her three surviving children: Inell Daniels, Lessie Daniels and Jacqueline (Ralph) Thomas; an army of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and a few great-great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and a multitude of other family and friends who loved her dearly.
