Deacon Willie James Walker was born November 20, 1936 to the late George and Laura Ann Walker in Barbour County Alabama.
He is preceded in death by a sister Anne Mae Abbott, a daughter Janet Lockett, and his best friend Nathaniel Russell.
Deacon Walker transitioned to the next stage of life’s journey in the wee hours of the morning of December 26, 2018. In his early 30’s, he was added to the body of Christ at New Zion Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon until his death. Deacon Walker was no stranger to hard work and continued to work up until the very end. He strongly believed that a man’s word is his bond and stood by his word.
