Theresa Lorraine Robinson Boyd was born on September 2, 1955, to Mamie Ree Robinson and the late Willie Robinson in Hartford, Alabama.   She was the 4th oldest of 6 children.

She accepted Christ as her savior at a young age at Prosperity Missionary Baptist Church under the late Reverend W.C. Autrey.  Theresa graduated from Geneva County High School in 1974.

After finishing high school, she wanted to spread her wings therefore, she enlisted in the Army on November 6, 1974, in Montgomery, Alabama.  After completing her basic training in Fort Jackson, SC, she was assigned as a clerk typist to Fort Eustis, Virginia where she met and fell in love with her sweetheart, Cecil Hayes Boyd, Sr.  They married April 24, 1976, in Newport News, Virginia.  By the end of 1977, two sons were born: Cecil and Dominique.  Over the next 17 years, Theresa’s tour of duty took her to Shape, Belgium; Fort Rucker, Alabama; Frankfurt, Germany; and lastly, Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, where she retired with rank of Staff Sargent on November 30, 1994, with 20 years of service.

Following retirement, she returned to Enterprise, AL where she attended St. Beulah Missionary Baptist Church, under the guidance of Pastor Virgil Coleman.  Theresa later became a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where she served as Usher until she was unable to perform her duties as she began her battle with Parkinson’s Disease in 2010.  Through her battle she remained steadfast in her faith and remained a fighter.  After a lengthy battle, she was called home on October 25, 2017, while in the arms of her loving husband.

Theresa’s faithfulness, smile, unselfishness, and spirit will truly be missed, treasured and cherished by her loving Husband: Cecil Hayes Boyd, Sr.; Children: Cecil (Stephenie) Boyd, Jr., Grant, AL and Dominique (Tiffany) Boyd, Nashville, TN; Mother: Mamie Ree Robinson, Hartford, AL; Siblings: Clyde (Rosetta) Robinson, Dallas-Ft. Worth, TX, Brenda Shipman, Jefferson City, MO, Carey Robinson, Dothan, AL, Cynthia (Willie) Copeland, Harford, AL, and Ann (Roy) Smith, Harford, AL; Grandchildren: Noah Lewis, Landon Boyd, Nicholas Boyd, Evan Boyd, and Sophie Boyd; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many devoted friends.
