Lakesha Simmons Obituary

Lakesha Michelle Simmons was born on  January 18, 1979 to James Alvarion and Doreen Michelle Simmons in Enterprise, AL. As her parents and family were members of the United States Military,  Lakesha was afforded the chance to travel and see parts of the United States.

At the age of four Lakesha lived with her grandmother, Betty Jean Simmons as her father served his country. Betty “Ma” Simmons, as Lakesha called her provided Lakesha with the best opportunities that life had to offer. Most of Lakesha’s childhood was spent in Fort Meade, Maryland, also known as The Greater Metropolitan Area.

On January 4, 1993 Lakesha was blessed with a beautiful little girl named Briana Michelle Simmons, together these two would concur the world. Lakesha strived to be the greatest mother she could possibly be, ensuring to provide Briana with everything life had to offer, just as her grandmother had given her. In 1997 Betty Jean Simmons packed up the family and relocated back to Enterprise, AL where Lakesha continued her education, graduating in 1998.

In 2003 Lakesha attended Capps college with her sister Robin Ray, where they studied medical assisting and successfully graduated with honors in 2004. From that point on Lakesha flourished and enjoyed a lucrative career in the medical field until the Lord called her home. In 2009 Lakesha was blessed to spread even more of her love to her only grandson Bryson “Boogie” Michael Simmons. Bryson was his “Mimi’s” pride and joy. She loved Bryson with every ounce of herself passing on the tradition of love and the true definition of family, was instilled in his life. When you look into his eyes and glare at his smile you'll see Lakesha .

When God made Lakesha he didn't make perfection, but what he made was a person of  impact, a heart that gives, and never takes, a true woman of God. To know Lakesha was to know greatness, an old soul, a spirit of fire and ice. If she loved you, she loved you and all that, that meant, she protected you and gave the gift of laughter to some, a mother to others, a sister to many, and even more a friend to all. If there is one word to sum up the life that was Lakesha its “Love”. A true gift and treasure from the soul. “Love”

She was proceeded in death by her mother; Doreen Michelle Simmons, aunts; Tammy Kathleen Walker, Lavonne St. John, uncles; Benny Giles.

Lakesha leaves to cherish her memories her daughter; Briana Michelle, grandson; Bryson Michael, father; James Alvarion, grandmother; Betty Jean, aunts; Vivian Michelle, Bridgett Simmons, uncles; Roderick Simmons, Richard Monday, siblings; Travera Walker, Robin Ray, cousins; Jamie Simmons, Jovan Simmons, Saphira Simmons, and a host of additional cousins and friends.
