Bro. Ira Dean Simmons was born September 13, 1933, to the late Glover Moore and Annie Will Simmons in Enterprise, AL. Ira Dean was blessed into Christ at Adams Street Church of Christ Enterprise, AL. He ministered and preached at Tennille Road Church of Christ in Brundidge, AL for over 53 years.  He loved the church, but most of all he loved Christ.  Many lives were touched by his indomitable, encouraging spirit, and devoted service.
Bro. Simmons married the late Yvonne Marie (Henderson) Simmons and they were blessed with six children. He left indelible marks on the many lives with whom he came in contact.  He loved participating at the Senior Citizen Center playing dominoes.
He is preceded in death by two brothers, James Simmons and Mounty Simmons; a son, James Moore; and two grandsons; Jason Grase and Bobby Jones.
