Gary Louis Craig

Gary “Shugg” L. Craig, was born October 23, 1966 to the late Jessie James Craig, Sr. and Tanya Marie Thompson Craig in Chicago, Illinois. May 18, 1993 he was united in Holy Matrimony to Marion Nelson Craig of Opp, Alabama. To there union, they were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Lauren Lysa Craig.

Gary was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. In 1992, he moved to Opp, Alabama. He had a great love for his family; for music, especially Michael Jackson; for video games; for grilling and for football, his favorite team was the Chicago Bears. 

On January 06, 2019, at the age of 52, Gary departed his earthly body and made a transition to his final resting place. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Jessie James Craig, Sr. and Tanya Marie Craig; and two brothers, Jessie James, Jr. and Mark Anthony Craig. 

He leaves to cherish his precious memories, a devoted wife, Marion Nelson Craig; daughter, Lauren Lysa Craig; sister, Lisa Regina Craig of Chicago, Illinois; mother-n-law, Maple Colston Nelson; five brothers-in-law, John (Christina) Nelson, Calvin (Theresa) Nelson both of Elba, Alabama, Tim (Crystal) Nelson, Terron Nelson and Jeighson Nelson all of Opp, Alabama; sister-in-law, Wonda Nelson Phillips; four aunts, Yvonne (Osie) Agyarquah of Maryland, Jeanette (Joe) Colston Merrills, Alice Colston White and Marion Colston all of Opp, Alabama; special cousin, Akosua Ghailan of Chicago, Illinois; nieces and nephews, Elder Johnathan Lockett, Nicholas (Shai) Nelson (Kennedy) all of Elba, Alabama, Isaac Nelson of Panama City, Florida,  Treas (Cody) Barker (Cameron & Elise) all of Bangkok, Thailand, Quinton Caldwell of Enterprise (Ayrika & Anna Caldwell), Ashton Nelson, Lillian Nelson, Peyton Nelson all of Opp, Alabama, Terrin (Quayshaun) Denson (Madilyn) of Tumwater, Washington, Amiyah Wilson, Breanna Wilson both of Opp, Alabama, Brandon Warfield of Chicago, Illinois, Joseph Cunningham of Arizona, Lavale Cunningham of Chicago, Illinois, Rachael Martin of California, Racquel Martin of Chicago, Illinois, Brandy Martin of California and Naomi Williams of Minnisota; and a host of other family and friends.
