Betty Ross Thomas was born November 28, 1952 to the late Mandy Jefferson and Saint Patrick Brown in Praire, Mississippi. She departed this life on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at 11:21 A.M. at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, AL.
On March 14, 1975 she married her late husband Mr. Leon Thomas during his military duty in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Betty and Leon lived in Holy Matrimony for 41 years until death. Betty worked as a housekeeper at the Enterprise Nursing Home in Enterprise, AL, she also worked as a press operator in the laundry business in Daleville and Enterprise. She was a God fearing woman and attended Harris Temple in Elba, AL to fellowship with others. Betty was a caring and loving mother not to just her children and grandchildren, but to many others as well. Her home was always open to the homeless always giving love to all people in need. She was truly a kindhearted person with a smile that would brighten your day.
Mrs. Thomas is preceded in death by her husband; Leon Thomas a son Alonzo Anthony Nickson a sister Donnie Moore (Pee Wee) , a brother Robert Brown, grandson; Kewaune Ontee’ Williams, as well as her mother Mandy Jefferson and Father Saint Patrick Brown.
She leaves to cherish a loving daughter; Tedie Barrow (Albert) of Elba, AL, daughter; April Thomas (Sam) of Enterprise, AL, son; Martinez Thomas (Tyerrah) of Elba, AL, goddaughter; Beverly Aponte of Ozark, AL, stepson; Leon Coleman (Angie) of Montgomery, AL, sister; Aldonia Edwards (Jeff) of WestPoint, M.S. brother; Jimmy Brown (Chaujunita) of Minneapolis, M.N., sister in law; Amelia Carpenter, brother in law; Richard Thomas both of Elba, AL. She also leaves to cherish five granddaughters; Keonna Williams of Troy, A.L. Kiyeisha Williams of Elba, AL, Adrionna and Antraniya of Enterprise, A.L and Hillary Coleman of Montgomery, A.L. five grandsons; Keshawne and Kermire (Jr.) of Elba, A.L. Kadeem and Jawon of Slocomb, A.L. and Leon Son of Montgomery, A.L. She also has thirteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and many friends afar and beyond.
