Annie Rodgers

March 6, 1938 ~ September 17, 2017 (age 79) 79 Years Old

On September 17, 2017, we lost a very faithful sister, Mrs. Annie Merle Rodgers.  Annie Merle was born on March 6, 1938 to the late O’Neal and Cora McBride in Elba, Alabama.  She is survived by the love of her life Joseph Rodgers and five children.  Gloria Bradley (Willie) of Opp, Al; Billy Randall Rodgers (Patti) of Skipperville, Al; Regina Rodgers of Macon, GA; Rita Pardo (Benjamin) of Covington, GA; James Rodgers (Dana) of Covington, GA.  Her siblings are Lenard McBride (Robert Jean)( Both Deceased) of Elba, Al; Alice Musgove (James Musgrove—Deceased) of Elba, Al; Willie McBride (Johnny Bell) of Elba, Al; Mary Thomas (Wesely) of Norcross, Ga; Lonnie McBride (Corliss) of Waco, TX.  14 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren.

Annie Merle  was known to be the most humble and loving person in the world.  There was nothing she wouldn't do for you.  She really loved her God Jehovah.  In fact, she dedicated her life to serving him on December 21, 1968.  She spent many hours teaching others about Jehovah God.  She was a very impactful woman who touched the lives of many.  Her smile and laugh could light up the room.  She allowed the scripture at Romans 14:8 to govern her life:

“For if we live, we live to Jehovah, and if we die, we die to Jehovah.  So both if we live and if we die, we belong to Jehovah.”

That is how Annie Merle lived!  She was such a spiritual person.  She didn't allow anything to prevent her from serving Jehovah.  Even while she was sick, she faithfully served Jehovah to the end.  She never once complained or got upset with her sickness.  She knew that if she continued to rely on Jehovah, he would provide her with the peace she longed for.
