Allie Payne Obituary

On August 9, 1939 in the city of Elba, Alabama, a beautiful baby girl was born to the parents of John L Bullard and Annie Pearl Lee-Bullard. They named her Allie which means “Champion, High, and Superior”.
Allie attended Elba Colored School through the 12th grade and graduated with honors. She attended Alabama A&M University in Huntsville, Alabama.  Allie worked with her mother selling insurance and later became the Administrative Assistant for Coppinville High School in Enterprise, Alabama.   She was a Licensed Vocational Nurse at Lyster Army Hospital at Fort Rucker, Alabama and later started her own cleaning service.
She was a gifted pianist and served as the Minister of Music for Elba Zion Baptist Church and Pleasant Shade Baptist Church in Enterprise, Alabama.  A lover of Gospel music and Quartet, she was a member of the Gospel singing group known as The Loving Sisters, Al Green and the Green Brothers. The love of music was in her blood, so she became the musician for Fairfield Baptist Church in Lithonia, GA. and Travelers Rest Baptist Church in Scottsdale, GA.
She was joined in holy matrimony in 1992 to Robert Payne, and they shared 26 years of cherished memories. They had a beautiful life.  He was right by her side to the end.  He Loved his “Sweet Allie Mae”.
