Zoraida Colon Phillips of Elba, Alabama passed away peacefully  in her home on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 in the care of her husband and son following a long-term illness.

She was born January 17, 1951 in Morovis, Puerto Rico.  She lived in New York, New York as well as Lorain, Ohio prior to moving to Alabama in 2015.

Zoraida was a stay-at-home mother and wife who enjoyed cooking, reading, singing and her music.  Survivors include her husband, Tommy D. Phillips of forty-three years; her sons, Victor Cruz, Jr., Robert Cruz and Whalen Phillips; siblings, José Colon of Carolina, Puerto Rico, Virginia Colon, Gilbert Colon and Gloria Colon all of Lorain, Ohio; her beloved grandchildren, Camron, Jordyn, Tavian and Cheyenne; along with her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, José and Gloria Colon and her siblings, Carmen L. Colon and Serafin E. Colon both of Lorain, Ohio, Juan J. Colon of Palatka, Florida and Juana Colon of New York, New York.

Zoraida has entered the gates of Heaven to be with our beloved Heavenly Father.
