Steven Belcher was born on May 13, 1960 in Elba Alabama, to Lorene & Roy Belcher. He departed this life on May 14, 2017 in Dothan Alabama at Flowers Hospital. As a small child, Steve and his family moved from Elba to Lake Wales, Florida then later to St. Petersburg, Florida; where he spent most of his life until he returned to Elba in 2015, along with his mother.
Steve joined the Elim Seventh-day Adventist Church when he was a young boy. He had his special way of telling you about the Lord and singing songs of praise.
He was educated in the Pinellas County, Florida School System. Steve’s primary profession over the years has been in construction work of various disciplines. Steve was a fun-loving person. He was always trying to make a fun time. He was versatile in many hobbies such as cooking, singing and gardening. He also had an appreciation for different genre of music. Steve anxiously awaited the Spring season; he was excited to tell/bragged to anyone about what he planted. He often called his siblings to give them updates on the growing status of his garden and the various varieties.
Steve was married to Mrs. Ora Lene Handsborough-Belcher of Leesburg, Florida, who preceded him in death 7 months
ago. They shared a daughter and 3 grandchildren.
Family life was big in the eyes & heart of Steve (Mama, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts & uncles). No one can say they felt un-loved or slighted by him.
He cherished and was devoted to his family which includes: his mother-Lorene Caldwell Brown- Elba, AL, Step Daughter- Yashica Barrett-Leesburg, FL 10 siblings-Patricia Belcher Bolton (Jack)-Augusta, GA Roy Belcher-Tampa, FL, Phyllis Belcher-Augusta, GA, Juanita Belcher-Adkins (Michele)-New Port Richey, FL, Cornelius, (Cathey) Locust Grove, GA Glen L. Belcher, I (Nedia) -Augusta, GA, Angela Belcher-Augusta, GA, Anthony Belcher (deceased), Derrick Isham-Apopka, FL and Darron Isham-St. Petersburg; FL and a large host of- nieces, nephews, aunts uncles and cousins
