Sis Ruth N. (Creeper) McNair was born August 11, 1941 in Coffee County, Alabama to the late Elder K.B. and Drucella Benson and was the baby girl of 13 children. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Raymond Henry (Pete) McNair. To this union three children were born. She was a devoted wife and mother to her husband and children.
She was a devoted member of New Glorious Church of God in Christ where she served in several compacities to include Sunday School Superintendent, Usher, Hospitality President and Bible Band President. On her 75 year journey through this life she also severed as a head greeter on God’s Power Line of Prayer and was a foster grandparent at Rucker Boulevard Elementary School. Throughout her life, she led a life of prayer and dedication to God and taught her children the value of prayer and living a life worthy of the blessings of God. Wednesday March 3, 2017, she peacefully fell asleep at South East Medical Center (Noland Hospital) in Dothan, AL.
She was preceded in death by three sisters Mary A Brooks, Nina Ruth Irvin (Easy Jesus), Sarah M. Jones and two brothers Early B. Benson and Deacon James Benson.
She leaves to cherish her memories four children; Malinda (George) Hutcherson of Elba, AL; Jerome McNair of Scranton, Pennsylvania; Pamela (Sylvester) Sikes of Daleville, AL; Alex Tyrone (Sirrander) McNair of Enterprise, AL; three sisters: Mary Starks of Elba, AL; Martha Snell of Enterprise, AL; and Flora Marson of Elba, AL; four brothers: Willie B. Benson of Buffalo, NY; Kimmie Benson Jr. of Atlanta, GA; Moses (Helen) Benson of Saginaw, MI; and Simon (Grace) Benson of Monroeville, AL; three brothers-in-law, F.D. (Bell) McNair of Texasville, AL; Joe (May West) McNair of Skipperville, AL; Cullen Jackson of Ozark, AL and three sisters-in-law, Bobbie (Leroy) Kelly of Edwin, AL; Bernice Lindsley of Edwin, AL; and Susie Allen of Panama City, FL two grandchildren she raised, Monique Nicole McNair and Horace Montevon McNair and a host of other grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a loving, caring God-grandaughter and grandson Arica & Shun McCovey of Daleville, AL.
