Ramona Anderson Hardwick

July 12, 1928 ~ February 28, 2017 (age 88) 88 Years Old

 

Mrs. Ramona A. Hardwick, fondly known by many as Munchie, was born July 12, 1928 in Elba, Alabama to the late Ethel M. Stinson Anderson and Jake Anderson. Her husband Walter Hardwick and eldest son Kenneth E. Hardwick preceded her in death.

She attended and graduated from Elba Negro School/Mulberry Heights High School. Following graduation she attended Alabama State University for two years. She was employed as a substitute teacher in the Mulberry School System and was also employed several years at Kleinerts, Inc. from where she retired.

She joined Elba Zion Missionary Baptist Church at an early age where she was a faithful and loyal member. She served as a children’s Sunday School teacher and a volunteer on the culinary staff where she was famous for her “potato salad”. Everyone loved her potato salad. She was also a Counselor for Elba Zion Matrons and Missionary Ministries. After a short illness God called his faithful servant from labor to rest.

She leaves to cherish her memories two devoted and loving children Denise H. Dotson (Charles), Grand Prairie, TX, Edwin A. Hardwick (Jessica), Killeen, TX; a devoted and loving daughter-in-law Linda Hardwick, Acworth, GA; four grandchildren, Mikka Hardwick (Noranda), Westminister, CA, Meshunna H. Jackson (Derrick), Jacksonville, NC, Donovan and Devin Hardwick, Killeen, TX; five great grandchildren, two devoted and loving sisters Lillie M. Ward, Enterprise, AL Nellye Anderson, Elba, AL; two devoted and loving nieces Jemel Hatcher (Nathaniel), Pelham, AL, Dolores Simmons, Enterprise, AL; two devoted and loving nephews Jerry McMillan  (Nell), Elba, AL, Ronal McMillan (Bennie), Birmingham, AL; a devoted and loving cousin Perry Stinson (Ruby), Elba, AL; devoted loving friends Julia Phillips and Gladys Yelverton (EJ), Elba, AL, Brinda Sheridan (Leslie), Enterprise, AL and Maggie D. Marshall, Dallas, TX alond with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
