James “Mack” Harrison Jones Sr. a native of Geneva, Alabama was born to the parentage of the late Malcolm Harrison and the late Lucene Ware on February 3, 1952. He transcended into eternity on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Alabama.
James graduated from Riverside High School in Geneva, Alabama. He met and married Mary K. Jones. He then joined the United States Army and served for four years. While working at Dorsey Trailer, he attended McArthur technical college and receive a degree in paint and auto-body. James later became a truck driver. For a short time, he owned and operated an auto body paint shop.
He was proceeded in death by his grandparents; Henry and Sena Jones, his parents; Lucene and Bobby Ware and Malcolm Harrison, his daughter; Annetris LaShan Jones, four brothers; Michael Dewayne, Bernard, Roger, and Bobby Gene Ware and his aunt; Anne Neely.
James will be remembered by his wife; Mary K. Jones of Elba, Alabama, his children; Rolanda Jones of Elba, Alabama, Niquitha (Jerome) Merida of Jackson, Alabama, and James (Natasha) Jones, of McCalla, Alabama, ten grandchildren; Kayla (Xavier) Stoudemire, Keri (Kevin) Marshall, Kelsey Horstead, Kendall Cole-Jones, Shannon Merida, Natasia Brown, Jerome Merida, Joshua Jones, Shalyn Merida and James Harrison Jones III, two brothers; Bruce (Minnie) Jones, of Tuskegee, Alabama, and Gary (Keisha) Ware of Elba, Alabama, three sisters; Cynthia (David) Rowe of Kansas City, Kansas, Nathasha Harrison Boone, and Jacqueline Harrison, his mother-in-law; Mary Brown, a special cousin; Sharron Johnson, six great grandchildren, two special girls; Shaeunna and Shyundreia Hammonds, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
James will always be remembered for his smile.
