Danny Folmar was born August 12, 1965 in Opp, AL  (Covington County) to the late Ms. Alice Murl Folmar.  He joined Bethlehem Baptist Church at an early age.  He remained a member until death.  Mr. Danny Folmar departed this life on Sunday, January 7, 2018.

He attended Elba High School and believed in the black and gold.  He played football (#44), basketball and baseball.  After graduating high school, he joined the National Guard and served for several years and made many friends. Danny was employed with the Alabama Department of Transportation.

He was the youngest child of Ms. Alice Folmar and the youngest grandchild of Mrs. Lizzie Head.  Both preceded him in death.

Danny was affectionately known as “Yogi”.  He loved his family and friends and will be missed by all.

Yogi leaves to cherish his precious memories and celebrate his homegoing: one son, Justin West, two loving sisters; Patricia Folmar, Athens, AL, Joyce (Robert) Hightower, one brother; Larry (Louvella) Folmar, Elba, AL.  three nephews; Curry (Aishah), Ozell (Tanisha), and Sterling; three great nephews; Will, Nick and Jace; one niece;  Bridgett (Roderick); great nieces;  Nijah, Jasha, Dasha, Janiya, Zion, Laila and Nickya, and  host of cousins and friends.
