Mr. Charles Richard Coon was born January 18, 1946 to the late Mr. Cleveland Coon and Mrs. Annie Mae Coon.  At an early age, he joined and became a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church.  He married Fanny Lois Mims on April 21, 1986.

He departed this life on Thursday, April 14, 2017 at Medical Center Enterprise in Enterprise, Alabama.  Charles was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Cleveland Coon; his mother,  Mrs. Annie Mae Coon and his sister, Alice Bernice Coon.

He leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife of thirty-one years, Mrs. Fanny Lois Coon, of Opp, Alabama; four children, Charlotte Coon of Opp, Alabama, Cornelius (Abigail) Tillis of Fort Worth, Texas, Angela Coon of Marietta, Georgia and Charles Coon, Jr. of Opp, Alabama; special grandson, Noah Stallings; one brother, C.L. (Margie) Coon of Opp, Alabama; two sisters, Fannie (Carl)  Wheeler  of Knoxville, Tennessee and Shirley (James) Watkins of Opp, Alabama; five sisters-in-law, two of which are deceased, Ollie (Charles) Henderson of Elba, Alabama, Ann Williams of Miami, Florida and Coddie Stoudemire of Marietta, Georgia; eleven grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
